Blissed Out in the Bushes
The first week of living here in Asheville I passed a plant at the edge of the park just off the road near where I live. It was a strange plant that I had never seen before and seemed to have this ethereal, rainbow quality about it. I was walking rather quickly and had passed it before I had fully registered the magic of it. The scene was so beautiful however, that I turned around and took a few pictures to remember it by as I knew that, much like summer, it would soon be gone. This painting was my attempt to capture the beauty of the plant and its surroundings as perceived ed in my mind’s eye.
