About the Artist

Art has been my vehicle for expression for as long as I can remember. Fascinated by the world around me and eager to try and convey what I was seeing and experiencing, I took every opportunity to grow my abilities as an artist. Despite having graduated with a major in Illustration and a minor in Drawing from the Savannah College of Art and Design, my artistic path has been anything but the straight and narrow.

After years of working in the service industry and putting art on the back burner, I began to feel this nagging at a soul level. The best I can describe it is as the feeling one gets when there is something that you are supposed to be doing and yet you find every excuse not to do that very thing. Finally, as I turned thirty this past February I decided that it was time to stop making excuses and throw myself into my art completely.

This past year has been a crazy one for all of us. With the pandemic and the unstable economy, many of us have found ourselves faced with the sobering reality that life can change at any moment. This has imprinted an even greater desire to do what I love on my soul. I moved from Colorado to Asheville, NC this summer in order to be closer to family and follow my dreams of being an established artist in this vibrant mountain community. Now, with the onset of fall,  I find myself with the daunting yet exciting task of starting anew. One thing is for sure, adventure continues to call and I am constantly in awe of the natural world around me. I anticipate a shift in my work as I settle back into the eastern beauty of the Appalachian mountain region.
